FOR ME:
High FAT/High CARB= DEATH BY OBESITY
Low Fat/High Carb= Obesity with tons of health problems.
High Fat/Low Carb is my life choice, not High Protein/Low carb
Ok, so because I am a true low carber at this stage in my adult life, I come to realize, not everyone needs to consume a high fat diet - medium protein -low carb lifestyle. I have experimented with foods to see where I need to be in my "diet" which is now my lifestyle. I am only speaking for myself, and my own experience and sharing what I have learned about my body and the amazing results of my own fat loss by eating fats.
I use to consume a very high carb -low fat diet, and I didn't have the energy to last me all day. When I discovered eating a low carb-high fat diet, I understood that I use carbs for only one purpose: to provide energy. When I cut down on carbs, the energy my body needs had to come from somewhere else.
There are only two choices: Protein or Fat.
The point is that, to lose fat, your body must use that fat as a fuel; there is no other way. And the only way your body will use its stored fat as a fuel is if you force it to. That means depriving it of its present supply of fuel – the blood sugar, glucose – so that it has no choice in the matter.
I learned that there are two ways to cut your body's glucose supply:
The consuming FAT approach had two advantages over eat low fat/low-calorie-controlled approach: it means that I no longer have to go hungry and, by feeding my body on fats, it stopped trying to find glucose and change over naturally to using its own stored fat. This is by far the easiest way because only then could I concentrated my on daily activity and not use food as a comfort and sitting watching TV and needing to eat out of habit. But, now I look at my foods as fuel, and fat is what I need especially in the AM to get me going. Coconut oil is my source of energy and through out the day, each meal has to have fat in it, and to replace the high carbs, I choose the carbs that are fibrous, which are the green leafy veggies.
- Starvation-which is what low-calorie, low-fat dieting or
- Low Carbohydrate-which reduce the starches and sugars from which glucose is made and make it up with a source of a different fuel — fat.
So, you can choose a low fat- low calories plan to help with the fat loss, or use what I have found that has been working for me, and my blood test will always be what keeps me motivated to stay on this eating lifestyle, sugar has no place in my life, sure I still love the cookie and cakes, but I am only wasting time in my fat loss, because I can still enjoy life, take a dive into the sugar feast, but know, that going back to my eating plan should always come first in my health and well being. I am a true fat burner. But I am human, and still have weak moments when my brain is still wanting to nibble, but those "habits" are less and less, yes indeed!
I cannot express enough about how Gary Taubes's book www.garytaubes.com gave me a piece of mind, and how reading what I was experiencing was such an amazing feeling. I have to get the next book of his, and I will be in bliss knowing that I am on the right track of keeping my health from deterioration. I am 52, but heck I have the mental feeling that keeps me motivated as I learn new adventures about myself, and wanting to share with others who may just wanna try switching to reducing carbs and increasing fat consumption.
