Keeping My Mental Health in Check through the Holidays

I often thought that if I could just live through the holidays as an ordinary day, everything would be fine and I would not get overwhelmed with foods, money and happiness. After so many years of the holidays coming going, one would think I would have it under control, but I know this holiday season, I will have it under control and I will let the holidays come with happiness and mental wellness. I am a student of life and I feel that failure, rejection and happiness all comes with the way you think about yourself and situations that you react to. Weight loss is a process, and you mentally have to push yourself through the tough time to get to where you are going. For me,staying active through mind body and soul is what fuels my balance in life, it's all about connecting the dots, good and bad, there is no failure or rejection in my life, it is what it is and I move forward. I am the healthiest I have every been mentally, I love how good it feels to have that control, and now I have the tools to help me, if ever I feel negative thoughts, I pull out my favorite fragrances and mulberry oil that I use for aromatherapy, and just go to a place to clear my head, usually a good walk will do it.

Getting though the Holiday Blues

From Psychology Today:

"The problem, of course, is that once you give up trying, you can't ever succeed. The same could be said about self-assertion. If you're to stand a fair chance of getting what you desire from life, it's crucial that you let others know about your wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings. Otherwise, how can you ever hope to be understood, empathized with, or assisted by them in your attempts at personal fulfillment?
The worst thing about taking failure and rejection personally--and as a result shying away from life's challenges--is how it affects your self-esteem."

Happy Thanksgiving and many more!
